Makkah to Jeddah Airport distance and travel time
King Abdulaziz International Airport is about 95 km by road from the Haram area. The drive normally takes 1 to 1.5 hours. What changes the time is not the highway but getting out of central Makkah: roads around Masjid al-Haram are slow after prayers, on Friday afternoons and in Ramadan and Hajj season.
When to leave Makkah for your flight
Airlines usually ask you to arrive about 3 hours before an international flight. Add the drive and time to leave your hotel, and most pilgrims leave 4 to 5 hours before take-off.
